Classmate Update
Posted on January 13th, 2008 by AlexMore updates that have stacked up while I ignored the website:
Dan Czirjak and Becca Platt married relatively soon after graduation. Becca sent a nice update with a picture that I’ll post below. As an interesting historical footnote, Dan and I fought in plebe boxing for our first graded bout. It lasted all of 15 seconds before Dan landed a nice shot and knocked me right on my butt. It wasn’t one of my finer moments; and given my boxing skills, I’m fairly certain Dan doesn’t count it as one of his great accomplishments either. This update is probably about 10 months old, so keep that in mind. Becca writes:
As for me, I married our classmate Dan Czirjak in July 2000. He was stationed at Campbell and I was up at Drum. After his Kosovo deployment he PCS’d up to Drum while I was in Bosnia. We spent a couple years up there and he deployed with SOCCENT for the war. While he was deployed I PCD’d down to Ft Huachuca for the advanced course. After he returned he joined me down there and was in the class behind me. We saw lots of our classmates down there and then also at CAS3. After leaving Huachuca we moved to Ft Riley, where we are now. We had a girl in October 2004, coincidentally the same weekend as our 5-year class reunion (obviously we didn’t make it to WP). The addition of a baby and Dan’s subsequent deployment to Iraq when Eve was 3 months old inspired my decision to get out of the army. I got out in January 2005, the day before Dan deployed. He spent the year in the 3 BDE/1 AD S2 shop while I stayed home with the baby. Dan got home a few weeks ago and we are enjoying spending tome together. Dan’s slated to get out this summer and we are both looking for jobs that will allow us to actually spend time together and where he can see Eve grow up. So that’s what we are up to.
Moving up six months in the email stack, Auggie Scicchitano and his wife emailed me to announce they were expecting their 3rd in August:
My wife Holly is pregnant again with our third child. She is due on 12 August, just 2 1/2 weeks shy of our twins’ 2nd birthday. But since we are going to have 3 little ones running around soon, we’ve decided that this is going to be it.
Jorg Jensen sent me a note about the email exchange about CTLT assignments and mascots wearing green berets. He also says he’s doing great, and unless I’m mistaken it looks like he’s out and working at Raytheon.

Good job on the class website. It’s nice to find out what everyone’s been doing. As for me, I spent 5 years at lovely Ft. Bliss in 1-7 ADA (PATRIOT). We deployed to Jordan for OIF, but were quickly sent home after the initial invasion. I got out at the 5 year mark and moved to MA to work for Raytheon as a PATRIOT Systems Engineer. Who knew that systems degree would pay off? I’m engaged to a wonderful woman, Kara, I’ve know since junior high. Wedding date is 17 Jun 06. Hope all is well.
Amy Siegenthaler sent me a short note that I’m sure she’d recall if she knew it’d take me 6 months to post:
I just realized that this site was available — really appreciate that you’re taking the time to keep us in the loop in terms of everyone’s goings on; time flies! The site looks great; I look forward to the continued updates on where what ‘our folks’ are doing these days — I’ll certainly let you know if I hear of anything interesting through the grapevine. All the best.
And finally (for this post), I got a message from Summer Multer (Perkins):
Been married to Clayton Multer (’00 Grad like I said) for 5 years this July. Been out of the Army since May of 2004. Working now for Michelin Tire Corporation in Greenville, SC. Two dogs, no kids yet. Hope all is well with you! Take care!!
More to follow.
