ATTENTION ALL GRADUATES:

Registration for our 25th Class Reunion, September 27-29, 2012 is now available! Mike Pratt has created a truly awesome place for our class (and the LGL) to engage and interact. Last reunion we told classmates where to go to register, yet we always get questions "where do I go to register?" We have told you where to go. If you feel the need to ask where do I go, you run the risk of being the butt of a Kiko Morillo joke.

1. Reunion central is located on Bugle Notes. We are releasing Bugle Notes version 3 as part of the plan to manage the entire 1987 25th Reunion process. While we have almost half of the class on Bugle Notes, it is a whole new look and feel with many new features. We have done everything we could to make this the easiest process yet as well as add all the benefits of new technologies to add to the experience. Now you'll be able to see whom from your Cadet company, etc. is attending, comment, ask questions, etc. Login at http://buglenotes.com

2. The biggest new feature is Facebook integration. If you have a Facebook account, we ask that you use your Facebook credentials to login. We automatically pull in some profile information so you don't have to! If you are signing up for the first time, after you login with Facebook we'll ask you for info like Class, Cadet Company & Branch.

3. Bugle Notes is for graduates and cadets. Sign up, register for events and purchase tickets you will be able to take care of all your reunion needs on this site.

4. You will notice a yellow reunion reminder and link on the top right of the site at http://buglenotes.com. In case you can't find it, you can find everything here http://buglenotes.com/groups/usma-1987/reunion There are only a few things you need to know to make this process go smoothly.

a. Tickets are processed all at once through our partner Ticket Leap. It's just like a shopping cart and you can take care of it in one transaction.

b. Like Facebook, we have created Events for each possible event you might attend e.g. the Class dinner. Before or After you purchase your tickets, PLEASE RSVP on the Events list page to all you plan on attending. YOu will receive benefits by doing this of knowing WHO will be attending. It's that simple.

5. A NOTE about Bugle Notes version 3. This is a major release. You will notice all of the Facebook similarities. We have many additional features to be released between now and the reunion. We have tested much of the site but there will still be things that break. Please send Mike Pratt a message in Bugle Notes or email him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so we can fix them. We'd also like to know your thoughts on what could be better. This is not a perfect solution but it's a giant leap from past solutions and will continue to get better.

There are 101 and a butt days until the 25th Reunion for the Class of 1987.

I am so looking forward to seeing many of you.

Best Regards,

Donna

Class Database

The class database is dead.

It was an old Windows based web application on one of the oldest servers you ever saw. There was also very little running on the server, little interest in Windows based stuff and only one person supporting it unlike the other WP-ORG services. With only us and two other groups using it and too few Windows support volunteers, it was not replaced when the server died.

You can still access all the data with this spreadsheet. You will need to login with the old database userid and password to download the spreadsheet.

There are other options for running most of the database functionality but they have not been fully explored yet.

Website Upgrade

The class website is in the process of being upgraded to a newer version of the software that runs the site. Not everything has been brought forward yet. You can still find everything at the old site. All our stories should be here but not everything will be brought forward. Most of the functionality will be recreated here in one way or another.

One reason for the upgrade is the server where the class database lives is being retired. The server runs Windows and there is little interest in Windows specific features these days at WP-ORG so there will be no new Windows server. The class database will be integrated into the main site in some format or another.
