Here are brief descriptions for the events for the reunion. Updated 10/1/07. Registration is now open!

Golf Tournament

Please join your classmates for our twentieth reunion golf tournament at the West Point Golf Course.  After May 15th, registration for any remaining slots will be opened up to other reunion classes, so don’t delay. 

WHEN:  THURSDAY, 4 October 2007

Course has newly renovated greens (2005)
TIME:  1200 Tee Off 
FORMAT:  Four-Person Scramble with a 1200 Shotgun Start
(All foursomes start o/a 1200 on one of the 18 tees)
PRICE:  $80.00 per Golfer
INCLUDES: Daily Green Fees, 18 Hole Cart, and box lunch 
ALL CAN PLAY ~ No Handicap required. 

Contests and Prizes:
• Closest to Pin
• Longest Drive
• Team Awards: 1st Team, 2nd & 3rd Team for lowest score

WHO:  Class of ’87, Spouses/Significant others, children over 16, and Guests are welcome.  Other classes will have access to the tournament after our registration period.

(You don’t need an entire team; I will place people in the same company or Regt. if you’re not sure with whom to play)

OTHER: NO BUS TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED
Dress Code-Collared shirt, Bermuda shorts/long pants (no cutoffs) and Soft Spikes (spikeless facility)

(Most flat soled shoes are acceptable: sneakers, etc.)

• Limited regular/tour rental sets are available ~ $10 fee (Call course at 845-938-2435 to reserve)
• There is a shower in the locker room (Bring a towel!)
• Refunds: none after 15 September 2007 unless golf course is closed for safety or unplayable conditions (lightning or wash out)

Thursday Class  Reception

WHERE:  Herbert Hall, Association of Graduates, 698 Mills Road, West Point, NY
TIME:  1900 -2300 Hours
WHO:  Graduates, spouses and significant others are welcome.  This is not a child-friendly event.
DRESS:  Casual and be prepared for a great time.
WHY:  This will be a great opportunity to mingle with your classmates, reminisce about old times and catch up on the past 5 (or 20) years.
PRICE: $35.00 per person
INCLUDES: Tasty and heavy hors d'oeuvres including swedish meatballs, lemon chicken, peppercorn tenderloin, bacon-wrapped scallops, rice pilaf, assorted vegetables and mini desserts.  Open bar with beer, wine and soda.

Friday Class Career Discussion

WHEN: Friday 5 October 2007

TIME: 0800-0935 hours, prior to the Class Memorial Service
WHO: Graduates. This is not a child- friendly event
DRESS: Casual and be prepared for an engaging discussion.

DESCRIPTION: ThisCareer Discussion for classmates interested in perspectives on civilian careers and career transitions, both from military to civilian as well as civilian to civilian. The format for the disc0ussion will be a brief panel discussion on career transition topics well as a question and answer session with selected panelists from the Class of 1987 that have served in various capacities in companies large and small, public and private, for profit and not for profit.

Discussion items will include:

   * Setting a career objective
   * Determining what you want to be when you grow up
   * Networking
   * The best strategies to employ in your career search
   * How to select the right company
   * Factors in evaluating job offers (it’s not just the compensation
     package)
   * Small vs. Big / Public vs. Private / Profit vs. Not for Profit
   * How to “serve,” while working in the public sector
   * Living your values in “Corporate America”

This discussion is a great opportunity to learn, network and share experiences with your Classmates. Panelists will share many different perspectives and lessons learned from their varied successful civilian careers.

DRESS: Business Casual to Formal (attendee choice)
PRICE: $66.50
INCLUDES: Cocktail Reception with chips & dips, fresh fruit, deluxe antipasto, vegetable crudite with dip, jumbo shrimp cocktail, assorted hot hand-passed hors d’oeuvres and a large selection of beer, wine and soda.  a buffet dinner includes: assorted dinner rolls, mini salad bar, carved prime rib with horseradish dressing, filet of sole stuffed with crabmeat, chicken marsala, mashed potatoes, wild rice,  vegetable medley, two pasta selections, a large selection of beer, wine and soda, coffee and tea, and assorted deluxe desserts.
A jazz ensemble will also provide live music.

Saturday Pre-Game Tailgate Party

PRICE: $35.00 per adult and $20.00 for children (6-17.  Children 5 and under are free (child-friendly event)
INCLUDES: "Upscale Tailgate"- Sausage and Peppers, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, Salad, Assorted Cookies and Brownies.  Open bar featuring "premium" beer and wine, soft drinks. Firstie Club will be open for those that wish to continue the party
