On Monday evening 19 October 2009, Steve Walsh, suffered a stroke at his home in Washington, DC. Earlier this morning, with his family at the hospital, Steve was taken off life support and died at 1045 EST. As many of you know Steve was very active in the Catholic church. His brother has communicated that Steve led a very full life and was very fulfilled up until the end. Steve volunteered as a court appointed special advocate for abused children, was a member of the Republican National Committee, and a die hard NY Jets fan, attending several games this season already with his family. He will be laid to rest in New York with his mother who passed away a few years ago. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming from the family in the next 24-36 hours and the services will be held in NY. Steve, affectionately known as "Sugar Boy", will be missed greatly. From our 1987 Howizter, "The word that sums up Sugar Boy is Brooklyn." Please keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time.
With much sadness, |
