I got an email from Walt Cunningham today. His CD "All Hail The Power" is now expected to be released around the end of August due to some administrative issues. He expects to start taking pre-orders on his website in July. If you have not visited the site and heard a sampling of the music it is truly inspirational, powerful and beautiful!

Two from '87 in the news recently:
1) May issue of "Soldiers" magazine has a photo on page 29 with the following caption: "LTC Christopher Kolenda, commander of 1st Sqdn., leads his command group during the road march.". This is in a story titled "Vying for 'Gunga Din'"
2) Friday, 8 June issue of USA Today, page 5A, has a story on the recent G8 summit in Germany. The story mentions and quotes Dave McCormick, our deputy national security adviser for international economic affairs.

The class gift selection committee is currently working to provide the class with gift options for the entire class to vote on. During our discussions several people have asked how to donate. While the official campaign for the 25th year gift will kick off at the 20th reunion, I will not turn away anyone that would like to start donating now. Early donations could provide a boost to our fund raising efforts, 1000 people starting a monthly allotment of $19.87 now instead of in October gives us an extra $99,350 in the pot. Keep it going through the 25th reunion and we will have a nice gift of $1,291,550.
If anyone would like to start donating early, please go to the "How to give" page of the AOG website.
Be sure to state that your donation is for the class of '87 gift fund and don't forget to fill out matching gift forms if your company has a matching gift program.

As you know several classmates in recent years have begun to seek elected office at the municipal, state and national levels. Their forays are a continued demonstration of selfless service.
On 8 May 2007, Dwayne Romero was elected to the Aspen City Council in Colorado. Dwayne was the only candidate out of eight vying for the opportunity to serve who won the election outright. The two closest vote winners after Dwayne will compete in a runoff election on 5 June for the fifth council city.
