Many of you may remember the West Point Aloha Shirt which the USMA Class of 1987 commissioned to commemorate the Army vs. University of Hawaii football game in November 2003. We had a great number of requests to purchase the fabric for personal use in other crafts and projects. Recently, the Class received USMA's permission to sell the remaining fabric by the yard.
Purchases can now be made online using a credit card. For those members of your organization without internet access, they can send the specifics of their order (i.e. # yards and shipping address) and a check to the following address:

Classmates and Fellow Almost Senior Citizens,
The "1987 OCWS Money Talks Fitness Challenge" came to me in a blinding flash of the obvious.
I'm at the doctor's the other day, nothing serious, just a physical to start the school year, and after they stick an insta-read thermometer in my ear, they ask me to hop up on the scale. Well, I haven't done much hopping lately, side-straddle or otherwise, but I comply to the best of my ability, and the way the dial starts spinning, I expect it to come up 7-7-7 and start spitting out tokens. When it finally comes to a rest, the number looks more like something associated with a new BMW coupe than the number of pounds that a human should weigh on Earth.

USMA87: If you didn't pick up the WSJ on Wednesday, you can read the article on Chris Kolenda online, with the Title: Soldier's Tea Date Aids Ties Along the Afghan Border.
It is a quick read about Chris' border crossing to "break bread" with his Pakistani counterpart
Nice work Chris!

My Secret Life as Peanut, www.CuriousCalico.com, written by Todd Friedman, our '87 classmate, and his wife, Megan Andrews, is an artful blend of entertaining stories, vibrant photos and educational content. The book was launched in early June.
The book, complete with plenty of color photos and fascinating facts about cats, is a fun read for animal lovers of all ages. The book, written as a chapter book, is perfect for the young reader, ages five to nine. It is also a wonderful book for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and teachers to share with young children.
