We had a little over 100 folks vote in the poll and in the end we had about 70% in favor of some discussion and 30% not in favor of discussions. Seems clear many of us want to loosen things up while a significant number of us do not.
Since this mailing list is a class communications tool we use for official class business, we cannot be a pure democracy on this so some restrictions are necessary. We cannot really afford to lose people to discussions when we have a list specifically set up for discussions but since our feelings along these lines are not as strong as they once were I think we can try to loosen up the rules a bit. Allow some discussions without the repeat of the great Amway debate of several years ago. |

USMA87 – I just checked my mail bag for the next Assembly and realize it is rather paltry. While this situation is not as dire as realizing the sosh paper is due in 4 days and I haven’t started my research, I request your help (remember “cooperate and graduate”, well this is the “corollary” to that “theorem”). |
