An interesting side-note, I am in a regular reserve unit and just received my promotion letter today (23 Oct 97) from this board. The board met 11 Mar 97, results announced 2 Oct 97--But my orders state that I have been a Major since 30 Sep 96! I've been a Major for over a year and didn't 'know' it. However, I only get paid as a Major from 2 Oct 97. This reserve system is interesting.
