Subject: Report on MAJ Curt Feistner's Memorial Service

Major Curt Feistner's family held a memorial service for him at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota on Saturday, March 2, 2002. His family interred Curt's body with full military honors at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Sunday, March 3, 2002.

The memorial service printed program described Major Curtis Donald Feistner, U.S. Army, as follows:

"Curt grew up in Birchwood Village. Son of Arlene and Donald, he was the youngest of three boys. He attended White Bear Lake Schools, graduating from White Bear High School in 1986 during which time he participated in numerous church and school activities. As a talented athlete and outdoorsman, Curt especially enjoyed cross-country skiing and competed in the Hawaii Iron Man Triathlon. Upon graduating from the United States Military Academy--West Point in 1990, Curt served as an Army aviator in a variety of leadership positions for numerous worldwide operations. Curt was a proud member of the Special Operations Air Regiment-Task Force 160th, known as the "Night Stalkers." Most recently, Curt commanded Echo Company of the 160th stationed in South Korea. Most dear to our hearts, Curt was our son, brother, and friend. His dedication to family kept him near even though he was often far away. We shall miss him.

Other Night Stalkers lost in the carsh were SGT Jeremy D. Foshee, 25, of Alabama; CPT Bartt D. Owens, USMA 1994, age 30, of Ohio; CW2 Jody L. Egnor, 32, of Ohio; SSG James P. Dorrity, 37, of Goldsboro, NC; SSG Kerry W. Frith, 37, of Jamesville, NV; SSG Bruce A. Rushforth, Jr., 35, of Massachusetts; and SPC Thomas F. Allison, 22, of Tacoma, WA. Two Air Force troops, MSG Wiliam L. McDaniel II and SSG Juan M. Ridout, from the 353d Special Operatoins Group based at Kadena Air Base in Japan, also died in the crash.
