This is an excerpt from a note from Ed Weckel, Cl '58 re the march back: "All marchers from 2000 have received advanced notice of the 15 August march. This year, the authorities are LIMITING the number of marchers who may participate in the entire 15 mile march to the first 120 who apply. All who apply later will be limited to the shorter 2 mile march. If you are interested in participating, go to the following web site : www.USMA.edu/DAA for further information and download the forms you need to complete and send to the Academy. Two forms are required: (1) the Waiver and Release From Liability and (2) the registration form. The fee has been increased to $125 to cover activities the next day - - two breakfasts and two lunches - - a bargain at any price. If you are serious about the 15 mile hike, I suggest you mail in your form today. I don't believe there is a limit on the 2 mile march. And, if you do sign up, PLEASE notify me (Weck58@cs.com) that you have done so, and the distance you've opted for. I'll try to link all 58ers together to pass on information and any tips which may be of use. My first tip is to suggest that you arrange for loging ASAP, since rooms at the Thayer will go quickly. Last year, they were sold out several months before the event. Applications, liability waiver, and check should be sent to: Mrs. Nancy E.
