In an effort to let you know what they have been up to for the past 20+ years, several of the class officers have completed a list of interesting questions. Leading off is Class Information Officer Val Coffey.
1. What is your name? Valerie Coffey
2. When did you get married? Married 1986, Divorced 1991
3. How many kids do you have? 1 What are their ages? B: 1994
4. What types/how many pets do you have? Dogs, 2 each
5. Where do you live now? Huntsville, Alabama
6. What was your favorite job in the military? Commander of 149th EOD Why? EOD people are crazy and special.
7. When you look back, was West Point the right choice for you? Yes.
8. What was your worst job in the military? USAR 81st RSC Chief of DCSIM Why? Too many civilians at the RSC.
9. What was your proudest moment? Every day with my son.
10. Do you keep in contact with your friends from ’85? Some. Especially the ones that live in Huntsville with me.
11. Who do you wish you were still in contact with? I miss the camaraderie that WP fosters more than any particular person.
12. Do you follow Army sports? Not really.
13. Have you been to a reunion? Yes, 20th.
14. What was your favorite part of the reunion? Talking to people in the halls.
15. Where were you stationed? Andrews AFB, MD and Fort Meade, MD
16. Do you look the same as you did as a cadet? Mostly, hair is longer.
17. Do you still have your Bugle Notes? No, my brother lost mine when he was at Prep School.
18. When did you get out of the Army? 1989.
19. What is your biggest regret about West Point? I didn’t get involved enough.
20. What was your biggest achievement after West Point?
21. How’s the cow? She’s content.
22. Do you recommend West Point to kids? Yes. What about your own kids? Yes.
23. Did you marry your West Point boyfriend? No.
24. Have you run the indoor obstacle course since graduating? Yes.
25. Do you get lost when you drive at West Point now? Sort of.
26. Are you still on active duty? No, USAR with the USACE.
27. What is the highest rank you attained? LTC.
28. What is your branch? OD, in an EN slot.
29. Have you been deployed? No. If so, where, with which unit, for how long?
30. Have you shot someone in battle? N/A
31. Have you ever given the youngest grad speech? Almost, when Todd Worthington tried to convince me that Dec 62 came after Jan 63.
32. Do you regularly attend Founders’ Day dinners? Yes.
33. Have you been to the Army Navy game? Yes.
34. Did you switch Services? No.
35. Do you still speak the foreign language you learned Yearling year? Only the Russian cuss words Kathy Anderson Carter taught me.
36. Do you remember your Sosh paper thesis? Nope.
37. Do you use Calculus EVER outside of the classroom? Nope.
38. Do you use a calculator for anything except paying bills? Nope.
39. Have you ever lost your class ring? Nope.
40. Do you wear your class ring? Nope.
41. How long is your hair? 12 inches.
42. Do you have all your teeth? Yep.
43. Have you had a heart attack or cancer? Nope.
44. Can you pass a PT test? Yep. When did you last take a PT test? Apr 07.
45. Can you still fit in your WP uniforms? Yep.
46. Have you ever tried to explain your first rally to a non-grad? Yep, they don’t get it.
47. When is the last time you had a snow ball fight? Last time it snowed in Alabama (2001?)
48. Do you keep in touch with your WP roommates? Most of them
49. Can you still do a long “Rocket”? Yes. What about a short “Rocket”? Yes.
50. Did you ever spin Sedgwick’s spurs? No, but provided escort service for Cornelia Haferkamp plebe year. She followed it up with a short rocket in North Area.

Black Knights Score 17-13 Win At North Texas
Freshman QB Trent Steelman's two-yard touchdown run with 1:13 left in the game capped a wild final eight minutes and gave the Black Knights a 17-13 win over North Texas on Saturday evening at Fouts Field. The victory improved Army's record 5-6 on the season and kept alive its hopes for a berth in the 2009 Eagle Bank Bowl. The Mean Green dropped their third straight and now stand at 2-9 for the season.

Army To Meet American For Patriot League Title Sunday
Sunday's highly anticipated Patriot League Volleyball Tournament title match will feature top-seeded Army against eight-time defending champion American at West Point's Gillis Field House. First serve is set for 4 p.m.

Alvarez Scores Twice in Army Loss
Army scored two third-period goals but was unable to overcome a three-goal third period deficit and fell to Bentley, 4-3, Saturday in an Atlantic Hockey Association contest at the John A. Ryan Skating Arena. Army scored three power play goals, two by Marcel Alvarez, but could not get the tying tally and fell to 3-8-2 overall and 2-5-1 in conference action.

Men?s Swimming & Diving Knocked From Unbeaten Ranks
Sophomore Brody Blickle was a triple winner, but it was not enough as host Columbia captured 10 of the 16 events en route to knocking the Army men's swimming and diving team from the unbeaten ranks with a 171-129 decision Saturday afternoon at Uris Pool.

Kyler Wins 149-Pound Title At Body Bar Invitational
Army senior captain Matt Kyler wrestled his way to first place at 149 pounds to lead the Black Knights at the Body Bar Invitational, hosted by Cornell.
