I have been serving on my 2nd involuntary deployment for the last 15 months in Southwest Asia and the CENTCOM AOR. Upon the completion of my Reserve deployment in May 07, I will go back to Active Duty after serving 9 years part time under a Call to Active Duty LTC program.
It has been a great honor to serve again, and I really enjoyed the my deployment that kept me busy in the CENTCOM AOR. I had a number of great Engineer projects for both US and other forces that made for some fulfilling operational and travel opportunities. I am looking forward to the 8 more years on active duty. I currently have 12 Active Duty years of service and 9 Reserve - National Guard (part time) years. Serving again has been a great and enjoyable experience. My wife Kendell, 4 kids (Patrick, Emma, KC, and Marcus), 4 dogs, and horse are looking forward to going back into the military at a location TBD after nine years prior to the deployment of
civilian life. In fact, I just filled out my preference sheet, something I last filled out in 1992 prior to leaving Active Duty. While it will be quite the change of pace from the last 9 years of civilian life, I am looking forward to the renewed journey in the military!
