From Stacey May:

"September 10, 2008

More prayers have been answered. We got the approval from our insurance to have the surgery at Mayo Clinic. The surgery is scheduled for Friday, September 19th. We will go up to Rochester the day before to do a few pre-operative appointments in the afternoon.

Mark will have the surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester – St. Mary’s is the hospital affiliated with Mayo Clinic. Dr. Parney has set aside his entire day for Mark’s surgery. The surgery should take around 5 hours. He will most likely be in intensive care for 2 days and in the regular neuro unit for another couple days – it will depend on his recovery.

Mark’s mom, Sandy and I will be staying at the SpringHill Suites – right by St. Mary’s Hospital.

High emotions going on… We feel confidant in Dr. Parney’s expertise, however there are always risks.

We are staying positive and have faith that all the prayers that you have been sending our way are going to work and he is going to pull through all of this!!

So please keep the prayers coming especially on the 19th.

Love,
Stacey"
