Scott Gemberling Update PDF Print E-mail

I enjoy staying up-to-date on classmates in the Assembly.  Since I have not sent something in for many years, I decided to do it now.

My wife, Cindy, and I have two great teenagers - Tess (16) and Sean (15).  As parents, we have finally come to grips with the fact the kids do not want to take vacations with us anymore.  We just got back from a vacation in CA (Magic Mountain and Disneyland).  They would rather hang with their friends, especially since they both have a respective boyfriend and girlfriend.  We are planning for Tess to attend college soon.  She is the liberal artist (talented potter and painter) and plans on being a psychiatrist.  Sean is more interested in girls than school.

I am horse poor due to Cindy's equestrian hobby.  She has one horse she rides,  The second horse is out to pasture - literally.  I pay for him to graze peacefully on a farm.  I can only hope I am treated as well when I retire.

We finally made it back to Arizona seven years ago.  We are enjoying being around family and the nice weather.  Don't believe the dry heat explanation - 115 degrees is unbearable no matter the humidity.   Almost two years ago, I decided to leave the corporate world and bought a commercial construction business.  I am a general contractor doing mostly office renovations and some ground up construction.  I am once again applying all I learned in engineering classes at USMA.  It is a  great life.  I should have done my own thing sooner.

I golf whenever I can and brew and drink my own beer.  The Class of '85 has an open invitation to drink a cold one if you are ever in Phoenix.

That's my update.  God bless to all and I will continue to read about the rest of the class on the website and in Assembly.

Who was the first in our class to -get married, have a child attend USMA, join the Navy?
