Newsflash
We're compiling a list of class "firsts". What memorable thing was our class the first (or last) to experience? Who was the first in our class to -get married, have a child attend USMA, join the Navy? Army Headline News
  • Colonel Earns Hall of Fame Honor
Jose Olivero found himself struggling academically during his first year at West Point. The change in academics from high school to the challenges of the Academy was a tough transition. Olivero battled through, took a class in summer school and kept his academic standing. He also left his mark on the athletic fields and in a distinguished military career. A standout in men's soccer and lacrosse, Olivero is one of 10 people that will be honored in September.
  • Black Knights Host The BAE Systems Fall Classic
Army (1-0-0), coming off a 3-1 women's soccer win over New Jersey Institute of Technology in its season debut Tuesday, hosts a challenging field at the BAE Systems Fall Classic Thursday and Saturday at Clinton Field. The Black Knights captured their own tournament in 2003 and were runner-up in 2005 and 2006.
  • Veteran Leadership Fuels Army Volleyball In 2008
With almost 90 percent of a potent offensive attack back, second-year head coach Alma Kovaci has good reason to be excited about the 2008 Army volleyball season. On the heels of a program-record 24-5 mark last fall, the Black Knights return all but one starter, four all-league players, four outstanding seniors and are adding seven talent-rich freshmen.
  • Women's Basketball Announces Class of 2012
Five players representing five different states make up the Army women's basketball Class of 2012, head coach Dave Magarity announced Wednesday morning. The group joins an Army team that lost four players to graduation last May after putting together a fourth-straight winning season (18-12).
  • Women's Soccer Rolls To 3-1 Season Opening Win Over NJIT
Army opened its 2008 women's soccer season in decisive fashion, romping to a 3-1 decision over New Jersey Institute of Technology in the season debut for both at Clinton Field Tuesday evening. Newcomers Dymon Washington and Ashleigh Sheets opened the scoring with a pair of goals just over six minutes apart as the Black Knights won their 14th season opener in 23 years and 12th in 18 years at the Division I level.
