Reigning Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year Eddie Kang headlined a group of five men's tennis players to garnered Patriot League Academic Honor Roll laurels, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Four Army golfers have been named to the Patriot League Golf Academic Honor Roll, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. Recent graduates Patrick Beverly and Matthew Hanlon as well as junior Sam Walenz and sophomore James Raymond were among the golfers honored by the Patriot League.
Juniors Jessica Shurtz and Brooke Jones, along with sophomore Kristin Beehler, garnered 2008 Patriot League Women's Tennis Academic Honor Roll accolades, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Rising sophomore and 2008 U.S. Olympic team member Stephen Scherer excelled at the 2008 USA Shooting National Championships over the weekend, capturing the Junior Men's 3-Position title at Ft. Benning's International Shooting Complex. The two-time first team All-American rifleman also finished second in the Junior Men's Air Rifle competition.
