The class leaders are beginning planning for the 25-year reunion. It's still a couple of years down the road, but they need to make some timing decisions to begin the planning process.
Please use the poll on the left side of the page to cast a vote for your preferred reunion time. |

Tim:
Some news to share. You may decide whether to post it to the class website news page. I was recently named
to the board of directors of two healthcare companies.
I am now serving on the board of MaxCyte, Inc., a medical device company in Gaithersburg, MD, which
develops customized closed system electroporation devices to enable engineered cell therapy such as cell
based immunotherapy for cancer or gene therapy. I was also named to the board of directors of Novamin
Technologies in Gainesville, FL. Novamin is in the prescription and over-the-counter oral healthcare
business and has a growing line of products selling internationally. I am currently a Partner with
Intersouth Partners, a venture capital firm with >$800 million under management.

Here's an interesting story in the Middletown (NY) Times-Herald Record about Kenny MacDonald's recovery from a combat injury, with the assistance of surgeon Tom DeBarardino.
"Lt. Col. Kenny McDonald brews a pot of coffee and settles into his chair, looking squared away and slightly uncomfortable in his dining room at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He says he's feeling better. The physical therapy is going well. "My lung is at 85 percent capacity," he says, and the gash in his leg has closed.
McDonald got ripped apart in Iraq. He'll show you the scars. To rebuild him, Army medicine had to learn hard lessons from a hard war."

I enjoy staying up-to-date on classmates in the Assembly. Since I have not sent something in for many years, I decided to do it now. My wife, Cindy, and I have two great teenagers - Tess (16) and Sean (15). As parents, we have finally come to grips with the fact the kids do not want to take vacations with us anymore. We just got back from a vacation in CA (Magic Mountain and Disneyland). They would rather hang with their friends, especially since they both have a respective boyfriend and girlfriend. We are planning for Tess to attend college soon. She is the liberal artist (talented potter and painter) and plans on being a psychiatrist. Sean is more interested in girls than school. I am horse poor due to Cindy's equestrian hobby. She has one horse she rides, The second horse is out to pasture - literally. I pay for him to graze peacefully on a farm. I can only hope I am treated as well when I retire. We finally made it back to Arizona seven years ago. We are enjoying being around family and the nice weather. Don't believe the dry heat explanation - 115 degrees is unbearable no matter the humidity. Almost two years ago, I decided to leave the corporate world and bought a commercial construction business. I am a general contractor doing mostly office renovations and some ground up construction. I am once again applying all I learned in engineering classes at USMA. It is a great life. I should have done my own thing sooner. I golf whenever I can and brew and drink my own beer. The Class of '85 has an open invitation to drink a cold one if you are ever in Phoenix. That's my update. God bless to all and I will continue to read about the rest of the class on the website and in Assembly. |
