Most everyone must be spending a lot of time at the beach or in Bosnia because I can count on one hand the number of letters I have received in the past two months. Please get the word out and send me some summer photos from the beach for those of your who are in the civilian world spending all of your free time working out (What's that?).

May 18- - Well I got my 10 year letter from Rod MacBride who is back in Ger after being called back to active duty to fill shortages in V Corpsvia the AL/IA National Guard (if you can figure out what I just repeated...it's true!) Great to know that the Army continues to take the easy road. Great to hear from you and good luck in Heidelberg if that is where you end up.

May 21 - Running a close second to Rod's 10 year mark is Jim Rice who also sent his 2d letter in 11 years. He & his wife now have two girls in the family, Shelby Anne born in Ger back in 1992 and most recently, Laylee Elizabeth in 1995. He finished up command of Bravo Bty, 4th Bn, 29th FA alongside John Aruzza (who commanded Alpha battery).

Jim has stayed busy in his hobbies as well getting in as much personal flying time as possible in his 1946 Piper J-3 Cub. He is also very active in a club that funds and restores old military vehicles. They currently have 8 dating back to the Korean War. Jim has seen many of our classmates in and around Ft. Sill since his reassignment there in 1995. Steve "Stump" Gibson finished up command of a battery after having been assigned as a Gunnery instructor. Jim Stewart and Greg Derosier are with the Readiness Group; Brian Hood left the Army and moved back to Ripley, TN and finally Ayron Kamp evidently is still roaming around looking for adventure. Great to hear from you Jim I would be careful in letting too much dust collect on the 'ole "sticks", the game goes away real fast!

Well that does it for the 2nd of two letters I received this period. I'm warning everyone that I will have to resort to the 'ole Carmel clan, the G-3 Gophers, and glass recycling in the next article if we don't dust off the No. 2's. Hope to hear from more of you soon. Until then, you have my best '85!
