1. In August, the following classmates attended the West Point Leader Conference.

WPAOG and West Point Leadership shared a great deal of information:

b. The conference keynote speaker was Dr Mike Meeks (San Francisco University).  He gave an excellent talk about the "Generational Differences" that we must consider as we are approaching younger classes (Gen X & Millennial) and our own children.

c. West Point is #4 Forbes College in the Nation, #10 College Library (hard to believe that it is NOT #1), West Point is #16 US News, #1 US Public Liberal Arts

e. Class Giving was a big topic of discussion.  ALL giving to the Academy counts toward our Class Giving target of ($3.5 Million).  If you have not pledged by consider starting your giving now.

2.  1st Annual North South USMA 78, 79, 80 Alumni Golf Scramble:

 This event is on Sept 17th (2PM) at Ft Belvior. Click here to see the flyer. The feadline for registration is Sep 13th.  USMA 78 has 27 Golfers (Don Davidson, Carl Savino, Jim Nichols, Mark O'Neill, Tim Hope, Jose Olivero, Paul Williamson, Joe Duda, Jack Lansford, Leo Hergenroeder, Bob Kazimer, Mike Riley, Gary Evans, Paul Zacharzuk, Bob Harrison, Joe Spenneberg, Mark Jones, Dale Hamby, Rob Grubbs, John Rooney, John Bressler, Bob Davis, Earl Rasmussun, Kevin & Julia Sheehan, Jim Bannantine, Bob Davis); USMA 80 has 5 (Gerald Barrett, Steve Galing, Michael Gayle, Clay Wilkins, John Wolf); and we have 15 Golfers(Alan Arthur, Tony Yeldell, Francis LeGasse, CE Taylor, Kevin Williams, Mark Fuller, Scott Dratch, Steve Godbey, Bob Hyatt, Jim Raycraft, Jerry Butler, Cole Hedden, Patrick J. Kastner, Kurt Ubbelohde, Carl Cecil).  Let's see if we can match 78...

3. The TOTL 79 Class Cruise

The class cruise is departing on 27 Feb 2011 for 7 days:  Miami/Nassau/ St Thomas/San Juan/Grand Turk.  The Group Registration Deadline is Sept 8th. Click here for the registration form.
