We traveled to several Combat Outposts to spend time and share fellowship; the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and Civilians of RC-East continue to do incredible work here in Afghanistan. I ask that today you all take pause and give thanks to these great men and women who continue to sacrifice, who put themselves in harms way so that we may all enjoy the freedoms that we sometimes take for granted...take time to email or call a loved one that may be deployed...finally, and with ultimate gratitude, give thanks to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service of our Nation...I am so thankful to all our Servicemen and women for their sacrifice, their commitment to protecting our freedoms and for what they are doing for the Afghan people...they are giving them the hope for a better life, a better tomorrow...I am humbled and truly honored to serve with these great men and women.
