Dear Classmates,

Greetings from West Point, where my employment by the AOG has postponed a final retirement of days spent at the dog track with emergency contact information pinned to my shirt on a note card.  I'm writing to forward a presentation (submitted in Part II) from a man whose retirement aspirations are slightly more ambitious, featuring as they do a pre-owned Ranger bass boat and an unlimited supply of Sam Adams beer.

The man, of course, is Dan Kaufman, and as you'll see, his presentation both describes and depicts Jefferson Hall, the new Cadet Library, projected for ground breaking next year and completion in the summer of '07.  More to the point of this message, it offers you a good look at the library's Rotunda, which will memorialize our Class.  I think you'll agree that we've chosen a magnificent gift to our alma mater.  However; as Paul DeCoursey mentioned in his message of a few weeks ago, we have an installment payment of $1.0M coming due on our gift at the end this year.

Through the end of September, we have $765, 960 in cash, so there's still a last big push to the goal ahead of us.  And since Dan is still an officer
on active duty, he can't legally ask you to join in making that push with a donation to our Gift Fund.  But I can, and so I urge those of you who have not already done so to please step up and help.  If you like, you can send a check directly to me.  Simply make it out to 'Class of 1968 Gift Fund.'  Here's the address: John Calabro, Association of Graduates, 698 Mills Road, West Point, NY 10996.  You can also donate online at www.aogusma.org/wpf/.  Finally, you can make your contribution through your company reps.  I'm including their names and contact information as to attachment to this email.

I'd be seriously remiss if I closed without offering sincere thanks to those who have already made a gift.   They've generously pulled together in an effort to prove once again that there's No Task Too Great, and I hope that every member of the Class will choose to join this winning team.

Best Wishes,

 John
