Proposed are significant renovations and upgrades to raise the existing facility to world-class standards. So doing will help West Point attract the highest level high school athlete consistent with West Point standards; allow West Point to host major regional and national indoor relays with the attendant positive publicity; reduce training injuries to our cadet athletes; and provide fitting recognition for the Class of 1968. The concept would allow all track and field events, except for the throws, to be conducted within the banked track with sprints and hurdles run in a straight line. Thus, spectators could watch all the excitement from the new bleachers. |
