Well, today is Christmas Day, 1996 is just about done, and the class has just hit 172 total membership in WP-ORG. A corps-level message just went out which summarizes our count cresting 4,000 members. This class was the dominant donor in the fund raising and therefore largely responsible for its creation. Bob Magruder, who has been an active co-conspirator with me in all this, and I, thank you for your genorosity and support for our 'project'.

I keep hearing about sightings of George Jacunski in the wind, but nothing of substance so far.. Maybe a Christmas computer will fill the bill!

Our ski trip to Colorado still could use additional members and Chris Shore is the contact. I'll try to get a digital camera for the trip and post news as to the quality of the snow, ability of the skiers, amenities, etc.. on the web page.

From all that I hear, the White House gig with Barry was a resounding success and drew lots of classmates. Know I picked up a bunch of email addresses.

Christmas here at the lake was sunny, light breeze, and lots of family, Both kids home with friends and cousins, aunts, and uncles. Santa was good to us and next year will be hard to better this one.

The browser of choice for the future on WO-ORG will be Netscape 3.0 Gold if you are getting ready to choose! Lots of new things around the corner and you'll best take advantage of it all with Netscape. Go forth and get it!

January 31 Update

About setting up a net for our spouses! LOTS of interesting comments! Howie is ready to fight a duel at dawn with any classmates who deny them equality.. and others were ready to respond. After weighing all the comments, I'm setting up a separate list usma1964-spouse for our wives. My impression is that they'll benefit most from an arena in which they can become proficient in their own good time without having to broadcast to the entire class. Most of these are 'newbies' and will learn fastest if there are more subscribing. Please encourage your spouse to participate!

George Jacunski surfaced in the middle of our DNS changeover and will be posting to this section as soon as he gets his 'cyberfeet' wet. Hi, George!

Our ski trip to Colorado is a go for this month and it looks like the weather'll be in our favor. We've had a dusting of snow here at the lake, but nothing you could slide on. Magruder's been sending us Email to start getting in shape.. and Andy Dykes tells me he's polishing his backgammon board. Andy and I have played on FIBS (First Intl Backgammon Server) and are looking forward to snarling at each other across the real board. That's it for now.
