Col Gillem speaks with Maj Dan Whisnet about how the Marines of Alpha Company are doing since returning from Iraq. When Steve Kenyon checks in, he and Denny tell us how their 1st Sgts trained them to be such good officers. In News and Comment, Jose Amorda is in-studio to talk about the lack of military history education for our youth. You'll also hear a preview of "1968: The Way It Was," a 2-hour Memorial Day special that NEWSRADIO WOOD 1300 will be airing on Monday night at 9.

Later, Paul Ryan of ESGR is on to give us the latest regarding the organization. In news and comment, Denny talks about how to deal with Iran through military force. Last, we salute Burt Brady in Dallas, TX!

    Col Gillem kicks off today's show by interviewing MSG Vicky Coulter (USAR). Topic: are there negative effects to having women in the military? Do women face challenges that men don't face in the military? MSG Coulter tells us first-hand. Next, Frank Boring of GVSU is on to give us the latest updates in the Veterans History Project. Later, Denny tells us about his past weekend in Detroit with the ESGR. Denny is now a member of ESGR. In News and Comment, hear about an awards ceremony in which a local Army Reservist and his WWII Vet grandfather both received surprise Bronze Star medals. Finally, Denny commemorates Private Matt Maupin, who lost his life in Iraq.
