Classmates and Spouses,

Just to let you know that my wife Carol just passed away in her sleep Tuesday evening, October 10th, after fighting Ovarian Cancer for a tough 3 years. We just started the 4th round of chemo treatments, but she was too weak to survive them. We buried her after Funeral Mass at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Wheeling on Saturday, October 14th.

Being from Cincinnati, Ohio, she was “Harry Walters tough” and would take less pain medicine because she wanted to be in control and have her faculties. She loved West Point, our Army friends, my Army Football teammates, and had a special spot for my M-2 mates Roy Green and Gil Roesler and DC associates to include the Huttons and tennis lessons from Stadlers.

In her final days, as she wished, she was surrounded by her family. Anything we can do to help them find a cure for Ovarian Cancer is a must. It is a tough one. Next time you give think of the giving, think of Carol and Ovarian cancer needs. Her Obituary and pictures are posted on altmeyer.com

I have attached a couple photos from Army team reunions.
