       ● ..... time is ticking away

Highlights:

§         The CYB will be published in two volumes.

·        Volume I, Who We Are, will be distributed in advance of our 50th Reunion.

¨      This volume will be over 600 pages in length and will include biographic data on all who were sworn in on July 5, 1955 as well as those who joined us from other classes.  In addition, it will:

Ø      nostalgically group us once again into our Cadet companies

Ø      summarize some significant military achievements and recognition;

Ø      recognize those who have predeceased us;

Ø      revisit briefly Buckner and the Cow Trip;

Ø      capture the Long Grey Line legacy, of which many of us are a part;

Ø      summarize many statistical facts relating to our diverse class;

§         …. and much, much more.

·        Volume II, Whence We Have Come, will include coverage from our 50th Reunion and will be distributed sometime in the 4th Quarter of 2009.

¨      This volume will capture in words and photos the following:

Ø      pre-West Point experiences and events relating to us all.

Ø      our Cadet years, capturing events from Beast Barracks through Graduation, including sports, class trips, Ring Hop, new cars, etc.

Ø      events subsequent to graduation through 1989, to include:

§         military assignments and ‘adventures’

§         Viet Nam experiences

§         our developing families (This Volume II is dedicated to “Our Wives and Children”.)

Ø      our civilian and retirement years, to the present time. This section will capture:

§         civilian jobs and achievements

§         reunions, big and small

§         personal achievements and unique talents (artistic; writing; other)

·        A DVD will be distributed later that will capture much of the above information plus additional “out-takes” and other relevant data that, for one reason or another, did not make it into either of the printed year books.

§         It is intended that the three items listed above be sold as a “set” with a reasonable price TBA.

§         The printed volumes will be of the same color, texture, and size as our 1959 Howitzer so that the three volumes will be seen as a matched set, telling our story.

§         A preview of selected pages from the two volumes may be seen on the Class Web Site.
