Constitution

OF THE

CLASS OF 1958

UNITED STATES MILITARY ACADEMY

 

ARTICLE I PURPOSE

 

The purpose of this organization is to preserve the unity of the Class of 1958, USMA, and to provide a means of administering Class affairs.

ARTICLE II MEMBERSHIP

 

Membership in the Class of 1958 will include all graduates of June 1958 from the United States Military Academy and all ex-members of the class who express a desire for membership and whose request for same is approved by the Executive Committee.

 

ARTICLE III
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

 

The executive body of the Class of 1958 shall be designated Executive Committee of the Class of 1958. Its composition, method of election, duties and location shall be as prescribed in the By-­Laws.

ARTICLE IV
PERMANENT CLASS OFFICERS

 

The Class President will remain as elected. Members of the Executive Committee will perform other class leadership functions. When the Class Presidency becomes vacant by virtue or resignation, disability or death of the President, the Executive Committee will nominate a successor for approval by the class.

 

ARTICLE V
CLASS MEETING

 

There will be an Annual Meeting of the Class at a time and place designated by the Executive Committee.

 

ARTICLE VI

CLASS FUND

 

The Executive Committee is empowered to make routine disposition of class funds to defray expenses incident to the conduct of class affairs. Any proposal for a major disposition of the funds, that is, relating to large single expenditures, and to its final disposition, will be presented for decision to the Class membership in the form of a resolution. A decision will be made in accordance with the desire of a simple majority of class members responding to the resolution, a copy of which must have been sent to the Class at least thirty days prior to the vote count.

 

ARTICLE VII AMENDMENT

 

This Constitution may be amended by a simple majority of members responding to a resolution for amendment within thirty days after the class is notified.

 

ARTICLE VIII RATIFICATION

This Constitution will be ratified and adopted when approved by a simple majority of the living Class membership.
