We will be staying at the Park MGM Hotel which is a 3,000 room Four Star hotel.  It has just been completely renovated by MGM at a cost of $500 million.  It is located in the middle of the Strip and immediately adjacent to the new Las Vegas Sports Arena (NFL and NHL).  (Artie and I stayed at the hotel three years ago during a Vietnam reunion.  It was then the Monte Carlo Hotel, and provided a great central location and a very nice overall venue for our reunion.  Hard to believe MGM spent $ ½ billion to upgrade.)  The hotel has a new 5,200 seat theater, and I noticed online that Bruno Mars, Stevie Wonder and Cher are booked there during July and August. Dates:  Check In on Tuesday, 26 March 2019;  Stay three nights - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday;  Check Out Friday, 29 March.  The mid-week stay is  to avoid the higher room costs associated with weekends stays.  Late March is recommended because of more moderate weather in early Spring. 

Cost per night for a King Room (one king bed and 406 square feet of space) is $65.86 per night plus $37.00 per night resort fee plus 13.38% tax per night, bringing the total room cost per night to approximately $116.  If you prefer a Queen Room with two queen beds, room cost will be $7 more, or about $123 inclusive of resort fee and taxes.  We have also reserved a large suite (900 square feet) that will be our Benny Havens room.   Vehicle parking is $15 per day for self parking and $24 per day for valet parking.  Guests staying at the hotel have unlimited in and out daily parking privileges.

Attendees should make their room reservations directly with the hotel.  Due the current uncertainty of how many will attend, we have a block of 50 rooms on reserve through 23 February 2019 – 30 King and 20 Queen.  Reservations can be made by calling 888-529-4828 and stating you want to make a reservation for “West Point 1958” or block code “GMWP1958”.  Either will work.  A one night room cost deposit will be charged to your credit card at the time of booking.  The remaining balance will be due upon check-out.  However, if cancellation is required prior to the reunion, and occurs at least 72 hours prior to our reunion dates in March 2019, your deposit will be fully  refunded.  

At this time I anticipate only a registration fee in the $10-$20 range per person, payable when you arrive.  The registration fee is intended to pay for the cost of the Benny Havens room and the cost of beverages and munchies that will be available for three days in the room.  An initial pay-as-you-go cocktail gathering on 26 March is TBD.  Currently, all meals are planned to be on-your-own.
