’58 Moments to Remember
(Courtesy of Alan Salisbury)

NOTES:  To the tune of “Moments to Remember.”
The first verse was originally written and sung for an L-1 graduation week party in June, 1958.
The second and third verses are new for the 45th reunion.

1.      The Tac came ‘round, the other day.

He saw my T-shirt, Triple A.

He gave me “something” to remember.

He quilled me for a B-plate nick

He put there with his swagger stick.

He gave me “something” to remember.

So grab your pencils, hurry down.

The 2 dash 2’s a kill.

Run downstairs to the B-board now

And sign up for your quill.

With AMI’s and PMI’s

And other Eyes that I despise,

He gave me “something” to remember!

2.      Now 45 years have come and gone.

And still the memories linger on.

We have so much that we remember.

From Kaydet gray to Army Green,

To Air Force Blue and in between.

We have so much that we remember.

Reunions come, reunions go.

The years are flying by.

The stories and the lies we tell,

Still keep our spirits high.

The special bonds of ’58

Confirm our class is more than “great.”

We have so much that we remember.

3.      We had another verse to sing,

But can’t recall another thing.

These senior moments….can’t remember.

No matter what the future brings,

We’ll always share one common thing.

These senior moments….can’t remember.

Reunions come, reunions go.

The years are flying by.

The stories and the lies we tell,

Still keep our spirits high.

The special bonds of ’58,

Confirm our class is more than “great.”

That may be all that we remember!
