Widows Outreach Team
The Widows Outreach
Team (WOT) consists of a team of concerned women including Betsy Hall, Audrey
Webb, Margie Downing, and Barbara Raymond, working together toward a vision of
improving our outreach by assisting class widows or wives facing great difficulty and
integrating them fully into class activities.
The WOT provides sustained contact for the class widows with the Class of ’58.
It's purpose is to develop and enrich the widows’ feelings of belonging to the
class and is considered the focal point for all widow related activities within
the class.The team will contact a new widow at the time of her loss, send
class condolences, and provide the WOT-developed
"Grip Hands" booklet.
The team will again
contact the widow to offer her the option to add her name and email address to the Widow’s
Email List.
The WOT will take the lead on determining interest for including a widows' event at class reunions
and gatherings. If so, they will take the lead on organizing the widow event in
conjunction with the reunion organizer.
