Class of ’56 Memorial Article Project

(As of July 2007)

Our Project’s goal is to memorialize as many of our deceased classmates as possible in Assembly / Taps.  Memorial articles have not yet been published for these Classmates.

We encourage each classmate to write, or to at least outline, his own memorial article.    This is the best way to help our families and classmates to accomplish a difficult task.  It is the only way to be certain that Assembly / Taps readers will see the story of your life as you want it to be told.  To record important information about your life and accomplishments complete the Write It Now (WIN) Form and file it with the Association of Graduates (AOG) for safekeeping.  Open the form here and then save it to your computer; then open it as a text file or with your word processing program to add your own information.

The AOG publishes helpful Guidelines for memorial articles: http://www.aogusma.org/class/gradguide/sec_8guide.htm , these should be followed closely.   Please contact the Project Coordinator to request exceptions.

The completed article is sent to the AOG accompanied by an “Inventory Form” http://www.aogusma.org/pubs/inven.htm with payment for extra copies, if desired, of the Assembly / Taps issue containing the published article.

Anyone who will volunteer to write, to facilitate writing (by contacting family members, friends, roommates, etc) or to contribute to an article should contact the deceased classmate’s battalion or company Representative.
