Edwin Richard Zemet was born on 31 July 1929 in Pennsylvania. He was appointed to West Point from the 26th Congressional District of Pennsylvania and entered on 3 July 1951. He was in Company A1. He was discharged 24 April 1953 for physical disability.

Ed went thru Plebe and 1/2 of Yearling years with us in A1 before getting medically discharged.
He was well thought of by both his classmates and the upper classes a Plebe. So much so that at Plebe Christmas he was selected to be the acting Brigade Commander for that period. His stature grew during the second half of Plebe year and he was selected to Command 3rd Company at Camp Buckner. Here again he performed well.
