Hugh Quinn and I were D-2 roommates of Bill Davis starting in February 1952. Bill had problems with academics but made it through Plebe year. By November
1952, though, it appeared that he'd have to take the turn-out exams. The following is an excerpt from one of my letters to my parents about it. Unfortunately, it didn't work and he was turned out. I've not heard from him since then but pray that the years after that were good ones for him.
Pictures of us with Bill can be seen on his Personal Web Page.

Dear Mom and Dad,
This week we certainly have a lot to look forward to. First there’s the Thanksgiving Day holiday and then there’s the Army-Navy game. After that there’ll be only three weeks until the Christmas holidays.
As I told you on the phone, I may not come home right away on Saturday afternoon of December twentieth if Bill Davis has to stay to take the turn-out exams. I figured I would stay until Monday and that way I could still be home long enough to have an enjoyable holiday and still help Bill out a bit. I’d feel terrible if he got found and I didn’t do anything to help him. A couple of days less of vacation is very little compared to having a friend get found.

Bill Davis' wife's name is Carol, he has 3 sons - Craig, Rick, and Rob. They are married. He has three daughters (he didn't mention their names or marital status). Four of his children went to Cal Berkley, the other two went to Stanford. All of his children and his 14 grandchildren live close to him.
He lives in Orinda, CA and retired about 8 years ago from C.B. Richard Ellis in SF. Prior to that he had also worked for Crown Zellerback for 4-5 years, and Caldwell Bankers in St Louis for 20 years.
