********************** John came from my home town, Albuquerque,NM. I did not know him until we became classmates. At West Point I found him a super guy .. a real hive in Chemistry. After graduation, he was one of the first to branch transfer to the chemical Corps and to attend graduate school. He was also one of the first in the class to return to the Academy to teach. He joined Physics and chemistry in the summer of 1961). His early death cut short a most promising military career. James E.
