Thomas Lawrence Mullan, Jr was born on 30 September 1931 in Cable Place, Long Island, New York. He was appointed to West Point from the National Guard and entered on 3 July 1951. He was in Company M2 and graduated on 7 Jun 1955 and was commissioned in the US Army in the Infantry.
