Don was stationed in Detroit. Chuck was sent to Europe to bring down the wall. Margaret was born after he left but we had asked Don to be her Godfather. He said yes. I have tried to keep up with him over the years but had no luck after we came back from Europe. He was one of the good guys. Sally Gersitz January 28, 2003) Don: We spent four great years together on the West Point gymnastics team. All of those hours hours of practice in West Gym year around and Saturday competitions each spring semester with Coach Maloney served to give us a competitive edge for the challenges that we would face during our military careers. While our paths did not cross during the years since graduation, we can both look back with pride upon the superior development provided for us by West Point. Now that your course on earth has run,I salute you with a sincere 'Well Done'. Praise God for your life and your contributions to mankind, the U.S. Army, and West Point. Dan Ludwig January 31, 2003) I remember Don at gymnastic meets. He had a stance that he would hold before going down the mat that caught your attention. The stance presented an air of confidence. I recall when I visited him and his father in Mesa Arizona in the late 90's as we were taking some pictures, Don still stood with that same stance he held at gym meets, erect, shoulders back, head even as though he were ready to run down the mat. He would talk of things he would do if he could get the funds. These were things to help mankind. Robert Camp July 11, 2003) |
