Don Isbell was born on 24 February 1930 in Florida. He was appointed to West Point from the District of Columbia and entered on 5 July 1950, turned back on 3 January 1953 for deficiency in Social Sciences, joined the Class of 1955 on 31 August 1953. He was in Company C1, graduated on 7 June 1955 and was commissioned in the US Army in the Infantry.

It beats studying, but our boy from Virginia still spends plenty of time studying. You see, he comes from a naval background. He’s sure he made the right choice, as long as he hears from Virginia.
