Al, Ron Rule and I roomed together as 4th Company New Cadets in Beast Barracks. One of the things that recurs in my mind about Al was how "spoony" he was; a second characteristic worth noting is how eternally optimimistic he was. To this day when I hear the song "Because Of You" it brings back memories of those days; Al was smitten and constantly wrote to his love "back home." That was their song. After moving to regular "academic" companies our association grew infrequent but we remained friends. The good memories of him are ever present in my mind to this day (25 JULy 2001). Benjamin D.
