I got to know Chick as a Cadet when we both lived in the same Barracks (M2 and F2 shared). Chick was as laid-back as you could be and still make it through West Point. He cruised through French while I struggled. Chick always had a word of encouragement for 'Monsieur Welter' as he called me. I will always have the fondest of memories of Chick, he was a good man.
