Carl Andrew Leaver was born on 26 May 1933 in Pennsylvania. He was appointed to West Point from the 1st Congressional District of Arkansas and entered on 3 July 1951. He was in Company E1 and was discharged on 15 September 1954. He died on 6 May 2006.

Carl Leaver is buried at Arlington in the same grave with his parents, who were both soldiers in WWII. He resigned in 1954, but later joined the USAF, served 20 years, retiring as a LTC and died in Fairfax VA on 6 May 2006 without any close family. His next of kin were cousins in PA.
