Marilyn (Triebwasser) York
Marilyn T. York, age 72, passed away at the Auburn Regional Medical Center on Thursday, October 2, 2008. She had been a resident of Auburn for the past 27 years.
She was born to Reuben and Pearl (Johnson) Triebwasser on December 2, 1935 in Jamestown, North Dakota. She was raised in Seattle, WA, graduating from Franklin High.
She married Harry "Mickey" York on June 25, 1955 in Seattle, WA. A military couple, they lived in Europe and all over the United States. She was a homemaker and dedicated military wife, volunteering her time and energies to fundraising and entertaining, befitting her husband's rank of Colonel in the US Army.
Marilyn was an avid gardener. She was a member of White River Presbyterian Church of Auburn and was an ordained Elder serving on the Session and several committees for many years. She was also a member of Presbyterian Women's Association and Koinonia of Wa.
She is survived by her son, Harry York of Auburn, WA (soon to be in Iraq); her daughter, Trish (Scott) Thomason of Yorktown, Virginia; four grandchildren, Andrew, Mary, Alisa, and Eric; a sister Bonnie (Joel) Massey of Federal Way, WA.
Visitation will take place on Wed. October 8 at the Weeks Enumclaw Funeral Chapel, Enumclaw, WA. between the hours of 3-8 PM. A private inurnment will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00AM on Thursday, Oct.9, at the White River Presbyterian Church in Auburn, WA.
Memorial Donations may be directed to the White River Presbyterian Church.
