Harvey Arlen Garn

Harvey Arlen Garn was born on 10 September 1931 in Sugar City, Idaho and appointed to West Point from the 2nd Congressional District of Idaho. He entered the academy on 3 July 1951 and was in Company I 1. He was a Corporal his 2nd Class year and a Captain and Battalion Commander his 1st Class year. He played basketball his 3rd, 2nd and 1st Class years and ran cross country his 4th Class year. He graduated on 7 June 1955 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army in the Armor.
