MISSION: To conduct a committee-structured program that will enable the Class to provide appropriate care and concern for Class widows and to maintain continuous contact with them.
CONCEPT: Organize the geographic structure of the United States into several (5) regions and assign a committee to carry out the missions that are planned and which may be developed. Management of this effort would be conducted by a selected Class member and a widow who woud be co-chairs appointed by the Class president. Selection of the five Class members and widows who will manage the program within each of the five regions would be the responsibility of the Committee Co-chairs. Oversight of the general conduct of the Class Widow Support Committee will be the responsibility of the Class Historian and Class Scribe. Tour of duty for Committee members would be indefinite as long as the individuals are capable and interested in continuing. If financial support for minor administrative needs arise, the Executive Committee should provide support as deemed necessary.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMITTEE
a. Maintain a current and accurate list of Class Widows in each region to include addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses as available.
b. Maintain means of contact at all times with each widow in the region by telephone or e-mail.
c. Maintain contact with West Point Societies within the region to share interest and information in assisting West Point widows.
d. Convey to widows in the region information regarding USMA activities in the region in which they may have interest.
e. Maintain contact with the AOG staff member who is the contact person for the Class Support Program.
f. Upon the death of a classmate in the region, coordinate with the designated LCA and offer assistance to the widow as may be appropriate.
g, Provide periodic feedback on activities to the Class Executive Committee.
