    ARMY MEN'S SOCCER FANS

    24 March 2005

Dear Army Soccer Fans and Friends,

ARMY MEN'S SOCCER FANS has recently been formed to provide both material support and encouragement to the Army Men's Soccer program. Although this organization is not officially sanctioned by the Army Athletic Association, it is very much aligned with the goals of West Point in providing the US Army with leaders of character, who often develop this leadership on the "fields of friendly strife." On behalf of the Soccer Coaches at USMA, we have been asked to thank you for your faithful and distinguished support of Army Soccer to date.

This organization has recently become aware that the Army Men's Soccer program is in great need of a video system capable of editing game films for individual or team review and instruction. To address this need and bring Army Men's Soccer to a level equal to other competitive Division I teams, including the Army Women's Soccer team, we would like to purchase a state of the art video and editing system for the team by the end of this Spring season. When informed of the system's capabilities, Head Coach Kurt Swanbeck said:

"…This state of the art video system and software will help the Army Soccer Program establish itself as one of the elite programs in the country with the highest capability of individual and team video analysis. The technology offered by Dartfish and Sony companies will give our program and its cadet athletes the opportunity to improve at a level experienced by the top athletes in the world."

Our goal is to raise $30,000 by 10 April 2005. We hope that each person contacted will consider contributing towards this need and any gift is appreciated. If 100 people could each give a minimum of $300, we would reach our goal. If you are able to help, please make your check payable to WP-ORG INC and designate your gift for "Army Men's Soccer video equipment". Your name and the amount of your contribution given to this 501c organization will be tracked insuring your gift will directly benefit Army Men's Soccer for this designated purpose. A letter of acknowledgement will be provided with appropriate thanks from the Office of Director of Intercollegiate Athletics (ODIA). You may go on-line and contribute by credit card at https://secure.west-point.org/armysoccer/donate or mail your contributions to WP-ORG INC, Army Men's Soccer Team, PO Box 595, Floyd, VA 24091-0595. Updates of the progress of this fundraiser will be provided every Friday at http://www.west-point.org/academy/soccer-net. If you would like to keep up with the latest Army Men's Soccer news, please subscribe to our listserv at http://www.west-point.org/academy/soccer-net/join.cgi.

Any funds collected beyond the amount needed for the video equipment will go towards meeting the needs of the Army Men's Soccer team for the Fall campaign. One such need is fully equipping Building 609 - the new Soccer Clubhouse - hopefully to be named Adamouski Hall, in honor of James F. Adamouski, former USMA soccer player, Class of '95 killed in Iraq 2 April 2003.

Thank you for your continued support of USMA and the Army Men's Soccer program. Please feel free to contact Richard Jones with questions or comments at rickjones16@comcast.net or 972-699-7026.
